Chasing The Sunrise

While waiting for the sunrise on a calm and beautiful beach in Florida, we ended up watching the birds and the peaceful waves because the sun did not show up. We were so excited to witness the sunrise by the beach and we did not expect it will be too cloudy that early morning. Thus, I made a poem to remember the moment. Who knows, this poem may be a part of my next poetry collection.

Chasing the Sunrise

walking down the beach
feel the morning breeze
chasing the sunrise –
who hides itself
behind the clouds

a flock of birds, crashing surf
dead empty sea shells
connive to cheer me up

i don’t understand
why my eyes keep on waiting
for someone who will not come out
to play and build
the sand castle – with me
