Top 10 Olympic Haiku: For Awe-Mazing Athletes

The 2016 Summer Olympics which is commonly known as Rio Olympics 2016 is being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The competition features 28 Olympic sports and total of 42 disciplines including the popular games swimming, diving, track & field, gymnastics, football, basketball, field hockey, boxing, weightlifting, badminton, tennis, archery, shooting, volleyball, taekwondo and a lot more sports – with golf and rugby sevens are the two new sports added.

Go for the gold is the aim of everyone.

Watching these admirable and awe-mazing athletes on the field, I cannot keep wandering ideas to honor these modern heroes of their respected countries. I can only do so through writing these Top 10 Haikus dedicated for all of them.

heavy training days
main goal eyes for the world’s best
end of line scrimmage.

jumper jumps hurdle
marathon runner beats time
fastest one to win.

bow before fight start
train like a judo master
end match five minutes.

outcome goal to meet
swim fastest among the rest
float like butterfly.

ballistic push strengths
complete lifts order wins game
snatch, clean and jerk lifts.

artistic gymnasts
balance beam with flex and grace
points landing perfect.

tactical punches
five judges score boxing bout
reward power punch.

acrobats in air
platform jumps into the pool
less landing splash scores.

shoot moving targets
accuracy points matters
intellectual tests.

There are more than 200 countries competing for this year’s Rio 2016 Olympic games that started August 5. The most awaited domination in the gold medals and in the overall medal standings will be concluded during the closing ceremony on August 21.
